PROM (or FORMAL as we call in Australia): Tonight is the night they've all been waiting for, and everyone has a bit more on their minds than just dancing.

What will cast members need?

All students involved will require a KPG Performance Uniform which consists of the KPG T-shirt, Long black dance pants, black socks and black jazz shoes/ sneakers or school shoes. Some classes may need to pay a costume hire of up to $35. An invoice will be sent if required.

Where are the rehearsals and performances?

The rehearsal & performances will be held at the Independent Theatre, 269 Miller Street, North Sydney (Opposite Stanton library).  This venue is air-conditioned, has a bar in the foyer for our guests which will be selling beverages.  Car parking is available either on Miller St or in Ridge St carpark. 

When are the rehearsals and performances?

The technical rehearsal and performances will both be held on Saturday 27th August 2011. There will be two performances; a matinee at 2pm and an evening performance at 7pm, students may be involved in either or both. Please see above list.

Technical Run

A full-technical run through will run from 9am-1pm on Saturday 27th August prior to the shows at the Independent Theatre and is compulsory for all cast and crew. PLEASE NOTE - This was originally scheduled for Thursday 25th August but has been changed. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time to allow time for costume fitting! 

  • 9:30am- White/Orange Drama Company
  • 10:00am – Performance Stream Blue and Red
  • 10:30am- Junior Drama Company
  • 11:00am – Pink Drama Company
  • 11:30am- Triple Threat
  • 11:45am– Creative Kids & Acting Up Primary
  • 12:00pm – Be Our Guest
  • 12:15pm - KICK Starters Kindy, Year 1 & Year 2
  • 12:30pm - Screen Actors Primary
  • 12:45pm– Glee Primary & High School
  • 1:00pm – HSM Cast

Please note students with a start time prior to midday can leave and return by 12:30pm.

2pm Show:

  • All cast and crew members need to be at the theatre in time for their technical run time – advised above.
  • Please arrive in KPG uniform with make up and hair complete.
  • Students to enter via the laneway next to the theatre where parents are to sign them in. There will be adequate supervision and due to child protection and limited space we cannot have parents backstage.  
  • Students can be signed out at the end of the show – approximately 2. 5 hours in length – again in the laneway where they entered. Those students also participating in the 7pm show can be signed out at the end of the show and return no later then 5.45pm. Students can stay between shows but please note there is no food available at the theatre and students cannot leave on their own without a signed parental permission note. Please ensure students have handed in this note to the office prior to the show or bring it with them on show day.

7pm Show:

  • All cast and crew members need to be at the theatre no later than 5.45pm to sign in
  • Please arrive in KPG uniform
  • Students to enter and exit as above.

Show Day

There will be no classes held on the 27th August.

Hair/ Make Up

All students to arrive with hair and make up complete.  Make up should consist of foundation, light blush, neutral lipstick, eyeliner and mascara.  Hair should be tied tightly back off the face in a high ponytail secured with a neutral elastic.

Tickets

Adults: - $30.00

Children (Age   - 16 and under) - $20.00

Grandparents - $22.00

Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday 10th August from midday.  Tickets are to be purchased via The Independent Theatre’s website www.theindependent.org.au and on the night but we strongly suggest purchasing prior to the show.  Seats are all numbered and allocated on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.  Please note that the theatre charges a $2.00 booking fee per ticket.

Legal Compliances & Photo/Video Memories:

In compliance with Copyright regulations, we wish to advise that the video or audio taping of the performance or any part thereof is strictly prohibited.  We have obtained a copyright license for the performance which prohibits recording of any kind (except by those who hold a valid copyright license).  So please help us to help others within the industry (the artists whose music and materials we are using) by respecting this and leaving the video camera AT HOME!  We have booked an official photographer. Photographs of your child and/or their item will be available for purchase online. Please note KPG does not make any profit from this exercise.
