KICK Starters
Kinder to Year 2
The KICK Starters programme is a fantastic introduction to the Performing Arts, opening up a world of new concepts and ideas as well as focusing on essential technique and developing skills. This two-hour weekly workshop comprises of four 30-minute classes in Ballet, Drama, Jazz & Singing, with a short, 15-minute meal/toilet break. In Year Two class times extend to 45 minutes each. As the activities change every thirty or fourty-five minutes, the students are constantly stimulated and remain focused without tiring. The KICK Starters programme builds solid all-round performance skills from the beginning. Students are given the opportunity to perform in Terms Two, Three and Four.
Triple Threat
Years 3-6
Triple Threat is an industry term meaning "all-rounder". This program consists of three classes in Drama, Dance and Singing for students from Years 3-6. This is a high-energy course will be fun but challenging for everyone. Suitable for both boys and girls, this class teams well with the Musical Theatre recreational classes. Students can also add a half an hour of tap to this course.
Performance Stream
Years 3-6 & High School
With students and their parents, we tailor-build an all-round program to suit each student, ensuring that classes are taken at the correct level in the appropriate disciplines. The core disciplines are covered in this program as well as electives which allow students to specialize. Students learn jazz, tap, ballet, singing and drama. This is essential training ground for those wishing to be a "Triple Threat" in the industry such as: Hugh Jackman, Renee Zellweger and Julia Stiles. Students are able to attend one or two streams only (for eg/ ballet and jazz only or singing and drama only) – however we encourage all students taking vocational class streams to enrol in the full program so as realise the full potential of the course.
Advanced Acting Programme (formerly Drama Company)
Years 3-6 & High School
This is an intensive training program for gifted and dedicated actors. This fast paced course is certainly not for the faint hearted and we expect the best from Australia’s best. Taught by some of the industry’s brightest teachers. This programme comprises of a weekly Screen Business, Theatre & Script Analysis and Creating a production piece. Students perform on a regular basis and are constantly involved in making short plays & films - building both their stage and screen repertoire. Members are assisted to gain and maintain theatrical representation. Regular guest teachers including casting directors, writers, producers and directors keep a close eye on students and their progress throughout the year. Students enrolled in this class will be graded and placed into the correct class for their age and ability. Students are encouraged to also enrol in the 2hr Production class during the week.
